Absolutely necessary; extremely important. 

That is precisely how I feel about my essential oils and what they’ve become for my ability to function properly. 

Did you know that the sense of smell was the very first of all of our senses to develop and research shows that there is 40% improvement in mood after being exposed to a pleasant scent? Essential Oils have been used for centuries and Hippocrates ( the father of Holistic medicine) claimed that the way to achieving optimal health was through aromatic baths and massages. SIGN ME UP!

Essential oils can be used for just about anything you can think of: enhancing moods, medicinal use to help alleviate various conditions like insomnia, migraines and headaches, nausea, digestive issues… you name it. Recipes for herbal-infused oils and creams have been discovered in the tombs of legendary Egyptians like Cleopatra and early kings and queens hired royal herb strewers to scatter herbs in their path in order to sweeten the air and ward off bad vibes.

I could go ON and ON about the history and facts of Essential Oils and their use for just about anything and everything but I’ll get to the point short and sweet: I for one have found the use of essential oils in my home and daily activities to be a life changer and I wanted to share a few ESSENTIAL blends that I absolutely can’t live without.

:CALMING BLEND: 

To help soothe and bring an overall sense of peace to the body and mind. Lavender is one of the most popular oils that is used for calming and soothing the skin as well as emotions. But another one of my favorites for relaxation is Clary Sage. Frankincense is used as boost for the immune system and is good for respiratory healthy as well as helping to alleviate headaches and migraines. When this blend comes together its naturally comforting. I love diffusing it at night to help promote a successful nights sleep or I even dilute the blend in jojoba or fractionated coconut oil and rub it on my neck and shoulders or bottoms of feet to help relax my body and mind.

  • SPEARMINT or PEPPERMINT  

:ENERGIZING BLEND: 

  • LEMON 
  • GINGER 
  • CINNAMON 
  • VANILLA 

This blend is delicious. The combination of the citrus with the spice gives me a burst of energy and turns the corners of my lips UP! It brings a sense of ease and alertness to my thoughts and helps me to stay focused, so I love diffusing this blend when I am cooking, or planning out my yoga classes or writing this blog post… I’ve coined this blend: CHEERS! 🥂 

:PROTECTION BLEND:

  • WILD ORANGE 
  • CLOVE 
  • CINNAMON 
  • EUCALYPTUS 

When these oils come together they are one strong force to be reckoned with. Their antibacterial properties help to keep the air and whatever they touch clear of the unwanted things like germs, bad energy, and bad thoughts. I like to drop this blend in my diffuser to cleanse the air, in my washer to cleanse my mans sweaty work out clothes, and a spray bottle with Castile soap to keep my kitchen counters nice and clean!
